Templeton Chamber of Commerce President’s Message

President Kristin Handley

Kristen Handley

What an exciting time to be a part of this town we know and love! No longer are we known as the spot between Atascadero and Paso, but we have flourished into a destination. We have award-winning schools, a thriving business district and an event schedule to rival any on the Central Coast. We welcome growth while striving to stay true to our historical essence, our family focused community and agricultural background. This strong sense of community is what makes Templeton a great place to work, live and thrive!

The Templeton Chamber of Commerce made great strides in 2014 and is anticipating an exciting year to come. We have a strong Board of Directors from all facets of the business community that are eager to guide our growth and support the economic vitality of our businesses. Our enthusiastic Executive Director Sarah Maggelet has been pivotal in steering the ship for the Chamber. We are also fortunate to have Gail Kudlac as our Administrative Assistant and Event Coordinator. Gail joined our team last year and brings a wealth of knowledge in event planning, fund raising and now leads our ambassador team. Together Sarah and Gail are expanding our chamber outreach to businesses and community members alike. You can meet both of these ladies at our new chamber office at 321 Main Street.

We are equally as privileged to have caring, compassionate and knowledgeable volunteers who are the workhorses of the Chamber. Our Ambassador Team is now comprised of 10 creative business members who freely donate their time to make all these events happen. From our Business-to-Business mixers to our monthly events, our Ambassadors make all the details come together. Our Templeton Women in Business Program, or TWIB, has two great new leaders in Dee Canepa and Stephanie Kemp. TWIB provides a monthly educational networking opportunity. Our Government Liaison Rob Rosales keeps us on top of local civic issues such as water policy and proposed planning projects. Rob ensures that the Chamber is informed and provides a voice for businesses while educating the community on matters that may impact our area. Coordinating with the County Board of Supervisors, the Templeton Area Advisory Group, the Templeton Unified School District and the Community Services District, the Chamber strives to be a resource for all in Templeton; businesses and residents alike.

The Chamber values its members and continually strives to create new and improved events that focus on the business community and our community as a whole. We partner and sponsor many activities including Concerts in the Park, Earth Day, Taste of Templeton, Business Expo, Wine and Roses, Fourth of July Parade, Founder’s Day and our Annual Installation Dinner, among others. Whether it is olive oil, wine, food, or music, you can find it in Templeton. Our local businesses provide almost every service you could want or need, and we appreciate you keeping your dollars in the community by shopping locally. Templeton has a lot to offer!

I hope you will find this Chamber Guide a great local resource that you will use over and over. It has local articles, important community dates and activities as well as a business directory. Consider it the “go-to guide” of 2015. Thank you to all who support Templeton businesses, civic and youth organizations, and the quality of life we enjoy.

Best Regards,

Kristen Handley
President of the Board, 2014-15
