Band will play a modern take on swing music

– Lizzy and the Triggermen are coming to the Clark Center in Arroyo Grande on Friday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m.

The band will be accompanied by live dancers.

The band is composed of jazz musicians including Dan Barrett and helmed by Lizzy Shapiro. Their 2020 debut album, “Good Songs for Bad Times” rose to number 3 on the iTunes Jazz charts.

“We are all about taking the sound and swagger of 1930s/40s swing and making it feel thrillingly modern,” said frontwoman Lizzy Shapiro. “Nothing is more electrifying than the sound of a full horn section wailing, which is something a modern audience rarely gets to hear.”

Tickets for the show are now on sale starting at $22 for bronze, $30 for silver, $48 for gold and $58 for platinum.
