Suspect arrested for robbing gas station in Halloween mask
One suspect arrested, one remains at-large
–On Nov. 4, deputies from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office had responded to a report of armed robbery which had just occurred at the Chevron gas station located at 460 W. Tefft Street in Nipomo. Witnesses say the suspect was a white male adult wearing a black zip up hoodie, black ski mask with cut outs for the eyes with a white skull like design on the front, black shirt, and black gloves. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money, cigarettes and lottery scratchers from the store clerk. The suspect then left the store on foot. No one was hurt during this incident.
During the subsequent investigation, sheriff’s detectives were able to identify two suspects in this case, 19-year-old Reed Hoffman of Nipomo and his roommate 24-year-old Matthew Edward Martinez.
On Wednesday, at approximately 3:15 p.m., detectives arrested Hoffman at his residence in the 300 block of South Oak Glen Avenue in Nipomo. He was arrested on a charge of armed robbery and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail.
