Supervisor Frank Mecham endorses Cunningham for Assembly
— Former Deputy District Attorney and candidate for Assembly, Jordan Cunningham (R-Templeton) has received the endorsement of former Paso Robles Mayor and current San Luis Obispo County Supervisor, Frank Mecham. Supervisor Mecham’s support provides Cunningham with endorsements from a majority of the board – adding to those of Board Chair Debbie Arnold and Supervisor Lynn Compton.
Cunningham will be running for the seat currently held by 35th district State Assemblyman Katcho Achadjian (R-Arroyo Grande), who is running for US Congress. Heidi Harmon (D-San Luis Obispo) is also running for Achadjian’s seat.
Mecham said, “Over the years, Jordan has demonstrated a pragmatic style of leadership that will create opportunities for Central Coast residents. I trust that his experience and knowledge of the region will permit him to make educated decisions that move our communities forward.”
A fifth generation resident of San Luis Obispo County, Mecham is a United States Navy veteran and dedicated community leader. He has served on the board of numerous organizations and committees, including: the Twin Cities Community Hospital, Paso Robles High School Technology Academy, and Nacimiento Water Commission. Mecham also spearheaded the establishment of the City of Paso Robles’ First Youth Commission, and the Economic Strategy Program that is being utilized countywide.
Like Mecham, Cunningham is a Central Coast native. He is the President of the Central Coast Taxpayers Association, an elected member of the Templeton Unified School Board, and a former Deputy District Attorney for San Luis Obispo County.
Cunningham currently works at Adamski, Moroski, Madden, Cumberland & Green. He lives in Templeton with his wife Shauna, and their four children.
