Summer swim assessment day cancelled

–The City of Atascadero’s Swim Assessment Day, previously scheduled for Thursday, June 8, has been cancelled. Participants will be assessed on the first day of their regular swim lesson and moved to their appropriate instruction level as needed. Swim Lesson registrations are open and are filling up fast, don’t wait to register your child!

This summer’s Rec Swim is open to all ages every weekday, Monday through Friday, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at a cost of $5 person each day, but punch passes are also available and are good for 10 visits at a cost of $31, and can be purchased at the pool or at the Colony Park Community Center on Traffic Way in Atascadero. Punch passes can be used by everyone in your family.

New this year is a Mommy or Daddy & Me swim class open to children 6 months to 3 years of age with a caregiver. This class is designed to familiarize young children to the water and prepare them to learn to swim in the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim courses. It is not designed to teach children to become good swimmers or to survive in the water on their own. Swim diapers required for children ages 2 and under.

You can register for swim lessons, Mommy/Daddy & Me class or buy a Rec Swim punch pass at the Colony Park Community Center. Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., or register online at www.atascadero.org. For more information, call (805) 470-3360.
