Summer concerts in the park series begins June 20
The first concert of Atascadero’s Saturday in the Park Summer 2015 Concert Series will be held on Saturday June 20 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Atascadero Lake Park Bandstand. This concert will be “An Evening of Jazz” featuring the Captain Nasty band, and is sponsored by Solarponics.
Captain Nasty is a 9–piece funk band hailing from the Central Coast of California. The band consists of drum, electric bass, electric guitar, Rhoads piano, percussion, alto sax, tenor sax, baritone sax and lead female vocalist. Captain Nasty originated as an instrumental jazz combo at Cuesta College.
This summer’s series of concerts begin Saturday, June 20 and run through Saturday, August 15, with the exceptions of two Saturdays: June 27 and July 4. All concerts will be held at the Atascadero Lake Park Bandstand from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
The concerts are free to the public and everyone is encouraged to bring a blanket, low-back chair, and the entire family. Pacific Harvest Catering will be serving their last concert on June 20 with a barbecue available for purchase.
