Standing room only at candidates forum, but only one candidate in attendance
–It was standing room only at a 5th District Supervisor’s Candidates Forum at the Templeton Community Services District Board Room Wednesday night, but candidate Ellen Beraud was not in attendance. The forum was put on by the Templeton Chamber of Commerce. Incumbent Supervisor Debbie Arnold answered questions submitted by those in attendance, including those submitted by supporters of her challenger, Beraud. Jessica Main, CEO of the Templeton Chamber of Commerce, said Beraud notified them Monday that she would not be attending the forum.
Beraud did not attend a forum put on by the California Tax Payers Association earlier in the campaign, and last week, she did not attend a debate put on by the County Farm Bureau. She is expected to attend a forum Thursday put by on the League of Women Voters. That forum will be from 5-8 p.m. at the San Luis Obispo County Supervisors Chambers.

The primary election is March 3. Vote-by-mail ballots will be sent out by the county clerk recorder’s office next week.
