Songwriters At Play presents Susan Marie Reeves and Tom Prasada-Rao for three shows in March:

March 5 at The Shell Café, 1351 Price St., Pismo Beach, (805) 773-8300. There is no cover (pass the hat for feature artist). All ages okay. Susan & Tom will share the stage with John Bunzli. Plus special guest sets by Rowan McGuire, and Taylor McCarl.

March 8 at Sculpterra Winery, 5015 Linne Rd., Paso Robles, (805) 226-8881. There is no cover (pass the hat for feature artist). All ages okay. Susan & Tom will share the stage with John Bunzli. Plus special guest sets by Brent Franklin, and Anson Krekeler.

March 13 at D’Anbino Cellars, 710 Pine St., Paso Robles,(805) 227-6900. The cover charge at the door is $12. All ages okay. Reservations are strongly recommended. At this special concert, Susan & Tom will share the featured spotlight with Nashville artists Lynn Langham and Doug Gill, with special guest Stephanie Croff.

Susan Marie Reeves played the 2014 Parkfield Bluegrass Festival with her all-female string band, The Honeysuckle Possums. Local bluegrass fans will also remember Susan from her six years touring with the band Wild Sage, and playing the Strawberry and Telluride music festivals. She has two CDs in release, and has won songwriting awards in contests in Colorado and Hawaii.

Tom Prasada-Rao was born in Ethiopia of Indian parents and raised in Washington DC. He’s also an award-winning writer, performer at major music festivals across the country. The Boston Globe said, “Prasada-Rao gives his folk songs an R&B flavor. George Benson, Grover Washington Jr, Marvin Gaye and a number of other Motown greats come to mind…” Washington Post: “The most moving, pointed and memorable songs reflect Prasada-Rao’s indebtedness to Bruce Cockburn, Bob Dylan, and Richard Thompson, and other singer songwriters who have something to say, and a distinctive way of saying it.”

John Bunzli, now based in Colorado, has always been musical, piano lessons, school choir etc. As a child he spent hours listening to a family record collection that included everything from classical to jazz, show tunes to pop and music from a variety of different cultures and countries. John studied music at the University of Colorado Denver, played in numerous bands, and now has a CD in release, “The Well”.

Stephanie Croff cut her musical teeth in the Black hills of South Dakota. She is now based in Buellton.
