SLO Police share advice as catalytic converter thefts continue 

More catalytic converters have been reported stolen

– The San Luis Obispo Police Department reported nine confirmed cases of catalytic converter theft over the last two weeks and has shared some advice for those concerned.

These thefts continue into the new year with many local police departments seeking information.

Some advice from the SLO Police Department:

• Park inside a garage, if possible.
• Install motion lights to illuminate carports and driveways.
• Call 911 if you hear metal sawing sounds or see suspicious activity near cars.
• Contact your mechanic to as about installing a security plate.
