Showdown Cornhole Tournament returns to the Atascadero Sunken Gardens
Proceeds support adaptive sports and the Central Coast Zoo
– The 9th annual Showdown Cornhole Tournament will take place Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Sunken Gardens in downtown Atascadero.
The event, organized by the Atascadero Knights of Columbus, will feature a full day of competition. Proceeds will benefit the North County Adaptive Sports and Recreation Program and the Central Coast Zoo Atascadero.
Registration opens at 8 a.m. for two-person teams, with a donation of $80 per team. The eight-team round robin toss is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to noon, followed by bracket finals from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first through third place teams in both the social and advanced brackets.
Additional competitions include a best team costume contest with a $50 prize, a “Most Points 4 Bags” event with a $10 buy-in and a $100 prize for first place, and an “air mail” toss with $100 for the winner. Cash prizes apply to adult teams only, ages 12 and older, with trophies also awarded for first through third place.
Food will be available from the on-site truck Tacos Marisco El Gordo. Attendees can also visit nearby restaurants in the downtown area. The tournament is free to attend.
