‘Shards of Ukraine’ sculptures on display at Art Center Morro Bay
Art reception happening Sunday
– Art lovers will not want to miss artist Ted Emrick’s “Shards of Ukraine” series, on display at Art Center Morro Bay from May 26 through June 27. The public is invited to a very special art reception, Sunday, June 5, 2-4 p.m.
The artist’s contemporary style combined with inspiration from cave paintings and rock expeditions, and offer a dynamic blend of visual storytelling within each unique sculpture. During the past 40 years, Emrick has created glass ocean doors and installations, working directly with clients and outlasting many of the galleries representing his work. This current exhibit has been inspired by the struggles in Ukraine, the bravery of its people, and their efforts to be free.
“This new body of work is the first I’ve completed in five years,” says Emrick, “I’m grateful that Art Center Morro Bay is exhibiting these sculptures as I feel they are important and relevant. For now, I hope it keeps the conversation about Ukraine in the forefront, raising awareness that helps continue funding for refugees of those people who have lost everything!”
