Sculpterra brings home medals from Chronicle’s wine competition
Sculpterra Winery and Sculpture Garden recently announced its latest achievements in the results of the 2015 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. Sculpterra Winery received four gold medals and one silver medal. Its gold medal winners included their 2012 Mourvedre, 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon, and two unique blends, the 2012 Maquette, a Bordeaux blend, and the 2012 Statuesque, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Petite Sirah. Their blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Primitivo, and Merlot known as 2012 Figurine brought in a silver medal.
The San Francisco Chronicle Wine competition is one of the larger wine competitions in our region, with over 6,300 wines submitted this year. “To be recognized by them is a huge honor, and to bring home multiple gold medals is an exciting accomplishment,” says Randy Coons with Sculpterra. “Sculpterra’s wines are meticulously cared for from the time they’re on the vine, through fermentation, barrel aging, and bottling so it’s nice to be recognized for all your hard work.”
