Schools put on lock down after subject seen swinging machete 

Atascadero police lockdown

Subject was detained and transferred to SLO County Mental Health for evaluation

–Today at approximately noon, an Atascadero Police officer responded to a report of a subject swinging a machete. The subject was located near Atascadero Middle School and Fine Arts Academy and as a result, the schools were put on temporary lockdown.

The subject was detained and transported to SLO County Mental Health for evaluation according to the Atascadero Police Department. No further information is available at this time.
