San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden to hold light and art exhibit over the holidays
A variety of different artists are involved with the exhibit
– The San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden will hold its outdoor holiday light and art exhibit “Nature Nights” from Nov. 11 to Jan. 8 on Thursday to Sunday evenings at 5-8 p.m.
The exhibit will be produced by the garden’s Director of Communication and Events, Tracy Strann, who has produced the Bruce Munro: Field of Light exhibit at Sensorio.
SLO Botanical Garden Executive Director, Chenda Lor, said, “Nature Nights was inspired by Phoenix’s Desert Botanical Garden event, Luminaria. Nature Nights fills a need in San Luis Obispo County for off-season family attractions. Through a connection to nature, visitors will enjoy the mental and physical health benefits inherent to the garden experience.”
The event will feature large format light projections by Bryn Forbes, illuminated sculptures by Michael Reddell, and lighting of garden areas by Kody Cava throughout an eight-acre portion of the total area.
Food and regional drink will both be available for purchase at the exhibit.
Tickets will cost $19.75 plus additional fees for adults, $14.75 plus additional fees for children 12 and under and free for toddlers two and under. Furthermore, members of the garden receive a $2 discount. Three timed ticket options will be available: 5, 6, and 7 p.m.
