Public Works Director Nick DeBar; Mayor Tom O’Malley, Council Members Brian Sturtevant and Charles Bourbeau.
–On Monday, July 30, pavement rehabilitation construction will begin for East Front Road between San Gabriel Street (Northbound US 101 Santa Rosa Road off-ramp) and Santa Rosa Road. Motorists should be aware that East Front Road will be closed between Montecito Avenue and Santa Rosa Road starting Monday, July 30, for construction of new concrete edge curbs, pavement repairs and embankment improvements. Closure of this section of East Front Road will last two to three weeks and traffic will be detoured around the construction zone via the San Gabriel Street-El Camino Real-Santa Rosa Road loop.
The City’s contractor, Souza Construction, will also be working on localized reconstruction areas between Montecito Avenue and the Northbound US 101 Santa Rosa Road off-ramp requiring intermittent single lane closures and traffic control. Upon completion of these construction items, East Front Road between the off-ramp and Santa Rosa Road will have an asphalt overlay and pavement markings restriped. The project is expected to be completed before Labor Day (Sept. 3). All businesses in the area will remain open and will vehicles will have access during construction.
