Report: Student brings gun to local high school
No other students were involved in the incident, no one harmed by the weapon
– A 17-year-old student recently brought a gun to Atascadero High School and took pictures of himself holding it in a school bathroom, according to a report by the San Luis Obispo Tribune. The incident took place on March 3, and students reported seeing the pictures on the social media platform Snapchat.
School resource officers were reportedly quick to respond to the situation, and the student was contacted and questioned. Although the student did not have the firearm in his possession at the time of the questioning, he ultimately admitted to having his father’s gun on campus, the report says.
The gun was later recovered from the student’s home, and a juvenile probation case was filed against the Atascadero High student. No other students were involved in the incident or harmed by the weapon, according to the report.
