Report: Atascadero police chief on undisclosed leave

Unclear when the leave began or how long it will last

– Atascadero Police Department Chief Robert “Bob” Masterson is currently on leave for an undisclosed reason, according to a report by The Tribune.

Terrie Banish, public information officer for the City of Atascadero, reportedly told The Tribune via text message that Masterson is “out on leave and he appointed Commander (Jason) Carr to be acting police chief in his absence.”

Banish would not confirm the type of leave or whether it was administrative paid leave. It is unknown when the leave began or how long it might last.
