Registration now available for youth basketball league
–The City of Atascadero is very pleased to offer the Summer 2017 Youth Basketball League. The cost is $71.50 per child, which includes a league t-shirt and a participation award. Registration is open through June 2, 2017 at the Colony Park Community Center at 5599 Traffic Way in Atascadero. Registrations will be extended for one additional week, through Friday, June 9 with a $10 late fee.
The 2017 summer basketball league is for boys and girls in a non-competitive setting and is open to children in grades 1 through 12 at any skill level. This program stresses the importance of individual skill development, teamwork, positive attitudes and most of all, having fun! The program is designed to ensure that the players are building up a good understanding for the rules, strategies, and structure of gameplay. Beginning Monday, June 12, there will be two weeks of Skills/Practices where players will have the opportunity to work with and learn from experienced players and coaches. Beginning Monday, June 26, games will be held on Mondays through Thursdays in the late afternoons and early evenings, with each team having two games per week.
