Public health announces second free flu clinic in Atascadero

– The San Luis Obispo County Public Health Department will hold one remaining free flu clinic this month for Atascadero Unified School District students, families, and community members.

The first clinic was held Oct. 9 at Santa Rosa Academic Academy in Atascadero. The second clinic will take place Monday, Oct. 27, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Atascadero Middle School, 6501 Lewis Ave., Atascadero. Vaccines will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The flu mist will be provided to children ages 3 and older while supplies last. Adults, and those with asthma or compromised immune systems, will receive the flu vaccine injection instead.

A parent or guardian must be present for children’s vaccinations, and a consent form will be completed on-site.

The clinics are organized by the California Department of Public Health and the County of San Luis Obispo.
