PRYAF presents a stunning performance of ‘Mary Poppins’
—The Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation’s ‘Mary Poppins’ was practically perfect in every way, from the talented young actors and actresses to the colorful scenery and much more. With two hours of whimsical fun, the family will be swept up in the wonder and magic of the classic movie that was adapted to the stage.
‘Mary Poppins’ is directed by Claire Fundaro, with lead cast members including Grace Fundaro as Mary Poppins, Ethan Cox as Bert, Annie Gribble as Jane Banks, and David Holman as Michael Banks. One cast member, Aurora Lomanto, played the role of Lead Sweep and even choreographed “Step in Time” and “The Penguin Dance”. All the cast members had flawless British accents and brought passion to each lyric and step in the musical numbers.
Audience members could also enjoy a student art show prior to the performance, during intermission, and after the performance. The art was created by students and displayed the incredible amount of creativity and dedication the students put into their creations.
“This project has been an incredible experience working with such talented young artists! Each student planned and implemented each of their unique compositions. Their inspiration triggered from the Mary Poppins story is radiating through their wonderful works of art,” wrote Emily French, who is the art show director, in the playbill.
There are still several opportunities to catch the wonder of ‘Mary Poppins’ before she flies out of town.
