– Tuesday in Atascadero was a busy day and night for service crews. In addition to the attic house fire that occurred at 3:47 p.m. at 4480 Cayucos Avenue, a large tree also fell on a power line along Old Morro Road East cutting power to thousands at approximately 8:24 p.m.

The tree fell and damaged the power line, according to reports. Initially, 4,016 customers lost power.  According to reports, the power was restored to all residents by about 10 p.m. No injuries were reported. PG&E reminds residents if you see downed power lines, do not go near them, and call 911 immediately. Downed power lines can carry an electrical charge and cause bodily injury if contact is made.
