Police receive information about a potential threat to Atascadero banks

–Pacific Western Bank on El Camino Real in Atascadero was briefly closed last week after Atascadero police received information the day before of a potential threat to banks in town.

Chase Bank in Atascadero was also the subject of threats, and units responded and allocated resources to it and discovered the information appeared to be false.

Police say there are no ongoing concerns at this time, and there is no threat to the public.
