Person found dead in mobile home after fire
Identity of the victim unknown at this time
– On Wednesday, firefighters from Cal Fire San Luis Obispo County Fire Department, Five Cities Fire Authority, and Santa Maria Fire responded to a structure fire on the 1200 block of Hetrick Ave near the Summit Station Rd. intersection in Arroyo Grande.
Firefighters were dispatched at approximately 2:51 p.m. The first arriving resource reported a fully involved mobile home and an out-building on fire with multiple exposures. Firefighters contained the fire to the home, the out-building, and kept the fire from burning additional buildings.
Neighbors report a male in his 70s lived at the home. Firefighters located a deceased person inside the home. The fire investigator is working closely with San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department in identifying the body.
