Pavement rehab project at Santa Barbara Road completed

–The City of Atascadero has announced the completion of paving on Santa Barbara Road from San Antonio Road to Atascadero Avenue. Restriping the roadway with permanent markings will be completed by Friday, July 21.
The project was completed within one week on an expedited schedule by Souza Construction. Souza Construction worked with both City staff and Caltrans to allow full roadway closures of Highway 101 southbound and northbound ramps, as well as Santa Barbara Road. Construction included a full removal and reconstruction of Santa Barbara Road east of the overcrossing, as well as grinding and repaving of Santa Barbara Road west of 101. Other minor improvements included reconstruction of asphalt curbs and adjustments to the final grade to improve drainage.
