Porter faces 16 felony charges of lewd acts with a child and sexual penetration of a victim 10 years old or younger, possession of matter depicting sexual content of a minor, as well as 41 misdemeanor counts of using a concealed camera to record a person’s undergarments. He is charged with physically molesting five children under the age of 7, between 2012 and 2016, at least one of whom were younger than 2-years-old at the time of the alleged crimes, reports say. He’s also charged with taking lewd photos or videos of 13 identified people.

Porter’s pleaded not guilty. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life in state prison.

Porter said that his current public defender did not agree on all aspects of his defense. “I may not be nearly as qualified, but no one else will fight for me as diligently as I will,” Porter wrote in a written request to waive counsel.
