Armed robbery suspects charged for liquor store heist

Suspects were already in custody for other crimes
– As previously reported, at about 10:50 p.m. on Nov. 12, the Paso Robles Police Department was dispatched to Wayside Liquor, 703 Creston Road, regarding a silent hold up alarm activation. Upon contact, the two store clerks told responding police officers that they had been robbed at gunpoint by two males wearing masks and dark hooded sweatshirts. Neither clerk was injured during this robbery.
As a result of investigative efforts by police detectives, in collaboration with detectives from the Atascadero Police Department, officers from the California Highway Patrol, and personnel from the San Luis Obispo County Probation Department, State of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and the San Luis Obispo County Gang Task Force, two suspects have been charged with this crime. Both suspects were already in custody at the San Luis Obispo County Jail on unrelated charges when these criminal complaints were filed by the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
Suspect #1 was identified by police as 23-year-old Atascadero resident Isaac Ward Tabard and Suspect #2 was identified by police as 22-year-old Paso Robles resident Elmer Rosendo Quiterio. According to county records Quiterio was already booked into county jail the morning after the robbery took place on drunk driving-related charges. His accomplice, Tabarez was booked into the county jail on Nov. 16 for allegedly violating his parole. Both were still in jail on Wednesday when the additional charges were filed against them.
Both suspects were charged with two counts of robbery (Wayside Liquor robbery, two clerks were victims) with special enhancements for the use of a firearm during the commission of the robbery and participation in a criminal street gang.

–The Paso Robles Police Department is seeking assistance from the community to identify the suspects in the recent armed robbery that occurred Saturday at Wayside Liquor in Paso Robles. The suspects, pictured above in screenshots from the victim business security cameras, are described as:
Suspect #1 was described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and had a black mask similar to a ski mask over his face. He was wearing black gloves and a black Seattle Seahawks hat. He was wearing black shoes with a white Nike swoosh on the sides and appeared to be approximately 5’08” to 5’10” tall and thin. He brandished what was described as a small caliber black long-barreled revolver.
Suspect #2 was described as wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jeans with a military style green belt, white batting gloves with red finger tips and a black ski mask over his face, which had white skeleton print near the eye hole. He was wearing black shoes that had a red symbol on the side and red colored tread and appeared to be approximately 5’08” to 5’10” tall and thin. He brandished what was described as a black semi-automatic handgun.

Two armed robbery suspects wanted
–Saturday night at about 10:50 p.m., the Paso Robles Police Department was dispatched to Wayside Liquor, 703 Creston Road, Paso Robles, regarding a silent hold up alarm activation. Upon contact, two unharmed store clerks told responding police officers that they had been robbed at gunpoint by two males wearing masks and dark hooded sweatshirts.
One suspect pointed a handgun at the clerk behind the counter and demanded money and a bottle of alcohol, police report. The clerk complied and provided one suspect with an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register and a bottle of alcohol.
The second clerk was held at gunpoint while the robbery took place, the report says. Upon receiving the money and alcohol, both suspects fled the store and discharged at least two rounds into the air, which the clerks described as sounding like a cap gun. The suspects then ran towards Walnut Drive.
A detailed description of both suspects was obtained from clerk statements and review of video surveillance footage of the robbery. The video was not released to the media.
