Paso Cares charity victim of theft

Paso Cares, a 501(c3) registered charity that serves the homeless in Paso Robles had their shed broken into Dec. 29. Paso Cares operates a feeding station (People’s Kitchen) under a tent and a warming shelter out of a city owned vacant lot located at the corner of 24th and riverside drive across from the fairgrounds. The group depends on community involvement to bring meals to the homeless seven nights a week and opens the warming shelter when temperatures dip below 40 degrees F.

Thieves pried off the roof and made away with lanterns, sleeping bags, inflatable mats, medical supplies and personal items, according to the organization. Estimated value was approximately $750. A police report was filed. Anyone with information should contact police officer Ed Gallagher at (805) 975-5614.
