Panel discusses how local artists shape, protect environment

Among the panelists were Mike Post of the Chimineas Ranch Foundation; Sasha Irving of Studios on the Park and Paso Artsfest; Eric Greening of Atascadero; Peter Steynberg of Steynberg Gallery; and SLOPE artist Bruce Everett.

–The San Luis Outdoor Painters for the Environment, or SLOPE, held a panel discussion Sunday afternoon at the Morro Bay Museum of Natural History. The panel discussed issues related to how artist shape and protect the environment.

Among the panelists were Mike Post of the Chimineas Ranch Foundation; Sasha Irving of Studios on the Park and Paso Artsfest; Eric Greening of Atascadero; Peter Steynberg of Steynberg Gallery; and SLOPE artist Bruce Everett.

The group is presenting at the Morro Bay Museum a collection of recent works by member artists painted at Montana de Oro State Park. Proceeds from the sale of the paintings go to local environmental causes.
