Over a quarter million dollars worth of stolen silver recovered
–On Nov. 24, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office took a burglary report from a man in rural Paso Robles regarding the loss of high value silver bars and coins from his residence.
The owner estimated the value of the loss at more than a quarter million dollars.
Sheriff’s detectives began an investigation which led to a female suspect being identified in this case. The suspect is a female acquaintance of the victim and investigators believe she was able to gain access to where the silver was kept in the residence. Detectives believe the suspect stole the silver in the early morning hours sometime in early November.
On Dec. 5, detectives served a search warrant at the suspect’s home in rural Paso Robles and were able to determine another location of where the stolen property was stored. Detectives were able to recover all the stolen silver and return it to its rightful owner.
The investigation is continuing. As a result of the investigation, the case will be filed with the San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office with a recommended charge of burglary.
