‘Out of Bounds!’ exhibition opens soon at Art Center Morro Bay
Works include two-dimensional mixed media pieces
– The Pastel Society of the West Coast will present “Out of Bounds!” an open juried international exhibition featuring works that combine pastel with other artistic mediums.
The exhibition will run from April 2 to May 11 from 12 to 4 p.m. daily at Art Center Morro Bay, 835 Main St, Morro Bay. An artist’s reception is scheduled for April 12 from 2 to 4 p.m.
The exhibition features two-dimensional works that incorporate approximately 30% to 50% pastel alongside one or more additional mediums, departing from traditional pastel guidelines that typically require a higher percentage of pastel.
Christine Silbaugh of Back Bay Pottery in Los Osos will be featured as the 3D artist. Silbaugh creates pieces inspired by nature, including birds, leaves, flowers, and the ocean. Her work includes miniature teapots, jewelry, and functional items for the home and kitchen such as garlic graters, utensil holders, butter dishes, and house numbers.
