Update: Murder-suicide reported in Atascadero

–The Atascadero couple found dead Saturday afternoon have been identified as Kenneth and Doris Casad, both 87, according to reports.
The Casad’s adult son, who was visiting, left for a short time and reportedly found their bodies when he arrived back at the home. It appears both the Casads had ongoing medical issues, especially Doris, which may have led to the murder suicide. It appears Kenneth shot his wife before turning the gun on himself, reports say.
The investigation into the incident is complete, and there are no outstanding suspects, reports say.

–An Atascadero couple in their 80s were found dead Saturday afternoon in apparent murder and suicide, Atascadero Police Department reports.
Atascadero Police officers were dispatched to the 5400 block of Dulzura Ave around 12:45 p.m. Officers confirmed two deceased adults were inside the residence and contacted detectives to respond.
Atascadero Police Department detectives along with assistance from the San Luis Obispo District Attorney’s Office and the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s department determined the deaths were an apparent murder and suicide.
The investigation is ongoing, police say.
