Multiple fires spark over hot-and-windy weekend

–Multiple brush fires were contained over the hot-and-windy weekend, according to reports.
Just north of Lake Nacimiento off Bee Rock Road, two structures and two acres were burned in what firefighters called the Rock Fire. Cal Fire SLO reported that forward progress of the Bee Rock Road Fire was stopped at about 5 p.m.
Crews also responded to a brush fire near the KOA campground near Santa Margarita Lake. It threatened two structures but was contained at between 1-2 acres.
Earlier in the day, a grass fire near Paso Robles was contained to a half acre, according to Cal Fire SLO.
Another small blaze was reported near Soda Lake in California Valley.
And on Sunday morning, another vegetation fire sparked in the area of Beacon Road and Jardine Road in Paso Robles. The fire, reported at about 11:10 a.m., grew to about 2 acres. The fire was contained at approximately 11:40 p.m. The initial crew reported the fire as two acres in a grain field and wind driven. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
