Mujeres de Acción to host annual Breast Cancer Gala in Atascadero

Dinner, music, and storytelling planned for the evening
– Mujeres de Acción will host its annual Breast Cancer Gala on Nov. 15 from 6 to 10 p.m. at SpringHill Suites by Marriott, located at 900 El Camino Real in Atascadero.
The event marks 11 years of Mujeres de Acción’s work supporting Latina women in San Luis Obispo County. The gala will honor breast cancer survivors, raise awareness for early detection and equitable health access, and highlight the organization’s ongoing efforts in health advocacy and cultural empowerment.
Dinner will be served, and attendees are encouraged to wear pink in solidarity with breast cancer survivors and those undergoing treatment. The evening will include storytelling, music, and remarks from community leaders and Mujeres de Acción volunteers.
“This gala is about more than breast cancer—it’s about community. It’s about celebrating life, honoring our journeys, and coming together to lift one another up,” said Claudia Olsen, community liaison at Mujeres de Acción. “For over a decade, we’ve been advocating for women’s health, dignity, and power—this evening is a reflection of that mission.”
Mujeres de Acción provides culturally relevant programming, health education workshops, food and housing assistance, and translation services. Funds raised from the gala will support and expand these programs.
Tickets are available on Eventbrite at this link. The event is for adults only. More information is available at www.mujeresdeaccion.org or on Facebook at @805mujerdeaccion.
