Motorcyclist injured in crash Wednesday evening
Rider lost control while negotiating curve, says CHP
– A 51-year-old Atascadero resident sustained major injuries in a motorcycle crash Wednesday evening at approximately 7:35 p.m. on El Pomar Drive, east of Vaquero Road, in an unincorporated area of San Luis Obispo County, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
Officers determined that the man, identified as Jeremy Thomas, was riding a black 2018 Suzuki motorcycle westbound on El Pomar Drive at a high rate of speed. While negotiating a curve, Thomas lost control of the motorcycle, traveled across the opposing traffic lane and onto the south shoulder. He was ejected from the motorcycle.
Thomas was transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center. Alcohol or drugs were not suspected as factors in the crash, which remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Templeton Area office.
