Motorcyclist dies after crash on Broad Street in San Luis Obispo
Driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigation, police said
– San Luis Obispo Police Department officials reported a fatal traffic collision that occurred on March 24 at about 9 a.m. on Broad Street in San Luis Obispo.
Authorities said a motorcyclist traveling southbound on Broad Street collided with a northbound vehicle that was turning left onto Caudill Street. The motorcyclist sustained major injuries. Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital, where he later died.
Due to the severity of the collision, investigators from the Severe Collision Investigation Detail responded to the scene to conduct an investigation into the fatal crash.
Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Authorities do not suspect driving under the influence as a cause of the collision.
Officials said they will release the name of the deceased after notifying next of kin.
