Mother’s Day fundraiser raises money for Printery Foundation
Foundation sold over 65 lasagna dinners for Mother’s Day
– The Atascadero Printery Foundation sold more than 65 Mother’s Day lasagna dinners Sunday. It’s an annual fundraiser which raises money to restore the printery building. The lasagna dinners are prepared by volunteers and sold for $45 for a family of four.
Questers members were also on hand to sell plants to raise money to repair the windows in the printery. The state Questers organization has deemed saving the printery as their project this calendar year. The printery is the big brick building behind chain-link fence just east of the rotunda. That’s where E.G. Lewis printed magazines for Sunset and other publications. It was designed by the same architect who designed the Atascadero Rotunda.
The Printery Foundation wants to restore the elegant old building so that people could use it for social events and performing arts presentations.
