Morro Bay Theatre shows ‘Rocky Horror’ to support local radio
– Local radio station 97.3 The Rock will hold a special screening of the cult classic film The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Bay Theatre in Morro Bay on Oct. 28. The event will serve as a fundraiser to benefit The Rock Community Radio.
Doors will open at 5 p.m., with the screening starting at 6 p.m. at the Bay Theatre, located at 464 Morro Bay Blvd. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at my805tix.com or TheRockCommunityRadio.org. Walk-up tickets will also be available at the event. Wine and beer will be available for purchase. There will also be a raffle for an e-bike donated by Red Tail Bikes in Morro Bay, valued at $1,699.
Cameron Wilson of the Bay Theatre said, “This is a perfect movie for us to partner up and support The Rock, a unique, freeform, non-commercial local radio station, it’s kind of like the rug that ties the community together.”
Proceeds from the event will go toward purchasing a power generator to ensure that emergency communication from state, county, and federal authorities reaches Estero Bay residents during power or cellular outages.
