Morro Bay resident convicted of felony criminal threats

Eric Douglas Zentzis, 45, faces maximum sentence of three years in state prison

San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that a San Luis Obispo County jury convicted Eric Douglas Zentzis (45) of making felony Criminal Threats. The offense is a “strike” under California’s Three Strikes Law.

During the weeklong trial, jurors heard evidence that between New Year’s Eve 2023, and Jan. 6, 2024, Zentzis left over 50 voicemails and sent multiple text messages threatening the victim causing her to fear for her life.

Zentzis is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 6 in Department 9 of the San Luis Obispo County Superior Court, The Honorable Crystal Seiler presiding, where he faces a maximum sentence of three years in state prison.

This case was investigated by the City of Morro Bay Police Department and was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney James Statton.
