Morro Bay Art Association presenting retrospective art exhibit

The work of David Jonas will be on display starting March 23
–“David Jonas, A Retrospective” will be on display at the Morro Bay Art Center from March 23 through May 1, 2017. The opening reception will be March 26, from 2 – 4 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. During this event, find a collection of vibrant oil and watercolor paintings that evoke the dazzling glow of sunlight.
There is no mistaking the life force conveyed by this award winning artist from Los Osos, California. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Ca., Jonas attended UCLA, Art Center College of Design and Jepson Art Institute. After working as an illustrator in New York, he joined Walt Disney Studios in LA, focusing on animation and live action films. Jonas also worked for Steven Spielberg and Francis Ford Coppola. In 1989, Jonas retired from Disney to teach art at California Art Institute in Thousand Oaks and to pursue fine art. In 1999, he moved to Los Osos, California with his wife, Susan who also worked 35 years in the Animation business as an ink and paint artist.
Currently his production artwork is on display in the recently opened Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco.
Jonas was a Signature Member of California Art Club. The Carnegie Art Museum in Oxnard, The National History Museum of Los Angeles County, Frederick R. Weisman Museum in Malibu and Phippen Museum in Prescott, Arizona all featured his work.
