Modest Mouse returns to rock on the Central Coast

—Grammy-nominated indie rock band Modest Mouse returned for their third Central Coast concert on May 22 in San Luis Obispo. The concert took place at the Alex Madonna Expo Center where attendees could purchase drinks and merchandise while enjoying the band in the standing room only venue.

Modest Mouse was formed in 1992 and has attracted a wide fan base. Their album, “Good News for People Who Love Bad News,” introduced the world to their eclectic style with songs like “Float On.” While each song had the crowd dancing and singing along, popular songs like “Dashboard” and “Lampshades on Fire” were the most energetic. The seven-man band performed 14 songs, and after a short break, finished with six songs. The lighting was well created as the lights flashed, changed colors, and shone across the room in perfect time with the songs.

Mimicking Birds opened up for Modest Mouse, performing a medley of songs. The band was formed in 2009 and has an alluring rock vibe. They have previously toured with Modest Mouse in the past. The bands were incredible live and put on a laudable show.
