–The California Mid-State Fair is introducing a new contest for public judging: The Vineyard Dog Park Special Award.

Organizers of Vineyard Dog Park of Templeton, a non-profit organization, will award a special prize of $300 plus expenses to a selected artist and painting in the California Mid-State Fair Public Judging Contest (18 and under). The artist will be invited to reproduce their painting on the park mural which is prominently located at the entrance to Vineyard Dog Park.

The winning entry should incorporate at least one of the following elements: dogs and their people in various activities, vineyards and hillsides, park amenities (trees, landscaping, frisbees, tennis ball, swimming pool), native plants or trees, or wildlife (butterflies, birds, deer, etc.)

You can register your painting by going to cmsf.fairmanager.com. Make sure to select the public judging department and then Division 350 Class 1. The mural must be completed by October 1. The winner will receive the $300 cash prize plus all art expenses paid at the completion of the project. Certification of community service hours will also be awarded upon project completion. An artist reception will be held at the public unveiling of the mural.
