‘Matilda’ comes to life at Atascadero High School
Show opens this weekend
– Atascadero High School Theater Department is set to bring a whimsical production to the stage this Spring with their latest offering, “Matilda the Musical Jr.” Based on the classic Roald Dahl novel, the play follows the adventures of a five-year-old girl named Matilda who loves learning and has a vivid imagination. The story takes a turn when she discovers she has supernatural powers that help her friends and lead her to defy an evil headmistress.
The show will open on March 24 at 7 p.m. with additional performances on the 25th, 31st, and April 1, also at 7 p.m. There will be matinee shows on March 25 and April 1 at 2 p.m. The Atascadero High School Theater is located at 1 High School Hill Rd. in Atascadero.

“Matilda the Musical Jr.” has enjoyed success since its West End debut in 2011 before making its way to Broadway in 2013. The show promises to be a fun-filled adventure for all ages.
