Masons of San Luis Obispo donate to Atascadero High School
Money will go towards instrumental music program
– King David’s Lodge No. 209 F.&A.M., home of the Masons of San Luis Obispo, continues its support of the public schools with a donation of $2,000 to the Atascadero High School (AHS) Band and Pageantry Boosters.
King David’s Lodge is a long-standing benefactor to a variety of public school programs throughout the county and other nonprofit philanthropic efforts, both locally and statewide. The lodge’s Masons also award more than $20,000 annually in college scholarships to graduating high school students and to members of masonic youth organizations.
As part of their ongoing semi-annual philanthropic drive, the Masons selected the AHS Instrumental Music Program following donation letters sent to the Masons by an AHS student musician. The student is a member of the Masonic youth organization, DeMolay International, which is one of the largest youth fraternities in the world dedicated to promoting leadership skills, civic awareness, and fellowship in young men between the ages of 12 and 21.
The lodge’s former master and DeMolay advisor, Christian Marano, presented the donation in behalf of the group.
The AHS Band Boosters Club is also currently holding a “Fun-Raiser” through 99Pledges: https://app.99pledges.com/fund/ahsbandbooster.
