Mandatory two-day watering schedule to take effect May 15

On April 1, 2015, Governor Jerry Brown issued California’s first ever mandatory water restrictions and ordered the State Water Resource Control Board to implement a mandatory 25 percent state-wide reduction in potable urban water use.

On May 5, 2015, Paso Robles City Council reaffirmed a Level II water shortage condition and adopted Urgency Ordinance 1014 N.S. to add additional water restrictions to comply with the state mandate.

The following new restrictions become effective May 15, 2015.

Outdoor irrigation is limited to two days per week according to the schedule below.

• Watering Zone 1: North of 13th St., Creston, Sherwood and Linne – Watering days are Tuesday and Saturday.

• Watering Zone 2: South of 13th St., Creston, Sherwood and Linne – Watering days are Wednesday and Sunday.

• Landscape irrigation is prohibited on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

• Outdoor irrigation is not permitted between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.

In the coming weeks, the city will provide additional information to homeowners regarding these changes and help customers reduce water use.
