Man injured in collision on Lewis Avenue Bridge in Atascadero 

Single-vehicle collision reported early Sunday morning

– A car crash was reported early Sunday morning around 1:30 or 2 a.m. on the Lewis Avenue Bridge in Atascadero. The unidentified motorist reportedly lost control of his Subaru WRX and crashed the car as he traveled north on Lewis Avenue. The man suffered head injuries and a broken nose, and was transported to a local hospital.

The collision damaged the railing and a planter on the bridge but did not appear to cause any structural damage. Sunday morning, an Atascadero city maintenance worker cleaned up the damage and rescued a plant from the overturned planter on the bridge.
