Man arrested for warrants after attempting to flee, hide from police
–On Saturday at 6:07 p.m., a California Highway Patrol officer attempted to stop a man driving a Ford F-150 because he observed that he was not wearing a seat belt. The driver, identified as Bakersfield man Christopher Gomez Cruz, attempted to flee the pursuing officer. After about 200 yards, Cruz reportedly lost control of the vehicle and struck a chain link fence. He then attempted to flee on foot. He was later discovered in a nearby yard hiding in a shed.
Cruz had three warrants out of San Luis Obispo County. He was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail without further incident.
