Man arrested in Atascadero for possession of fentanyl for sale
Search of vehicle yielded approximately a half-pound of suspected Fentanyl, large amount of cash
– On Thursday at approximately 10:55 a.m., a member of the Atascadero Police Department conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle near the intersection of West Mall and El Camino Real.
Officers contacted Joshua Keith Hill, a 43-year-old Paso Robles resident, and determined he had search and seizure terms as a condition of his bail from a pending court case involving drug charges. During a search of Hill’s vehicle officers located approximately a half-pound of suspected Fentanyl and a large amount of cash.
Hill was transported and booked at San Luis Obispo County Jail on a drug sale charge. The department sought a bail enhancement due to Hill’s continued criminal behavior while out on bail from the previous cases.
According to publications by the Drug Enforcement Agency, a lethal dose of Fentanyl is 2 milligrams or 0.002 grams. The amount of Fentanyl possessed, in this case, could equal approximately 124,850 lethal doses.
