Man arrested for credit card theft
–On Thursday, Christopher James Sprague (34) was arrested and booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail for multiple felony charges of credit card fraud, receiving stolen property and theft.
Officers from the Paso Robles Police Department, Atascadero Police Department and San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at Sprague’s residence. Officers located numerous items of unopened merchandise fraudulently purchased on the internet. The fraudulently obtained items included collectibles, clothing, cologne, video games, movies, water filtration devices, baby items and hair conditioner. These items were purchased by Sprague with fraudulent credit card numbers and delivered to multiple locations where Sprague would pick them up. An EBay account was utilized by Sprague to resell those same items. At the time of his arrest, Sprague was out on bail for similar charges from a 2015 fraud case.
