Local theater stages ‘The Last Romance’ for Valentine’s Day

Romantic play opens local theater’s 10th season

– By the Sea Productions will open its 10th season with “The Last Romance” by Joe DiPietro on Valentine’s Day weekend.

The play follows Ralph, who meets Carol during his daily walk while she is walking her dog. Ralph attempts to rekindle his youthful charm to pursue Carol despite objections from his sister. The story unfolds alongside a classic opera aria and centers on a late-in-life relationship that leads to a significant journey.

Rhonda Crowfoot directs the production. The cast includes Don Gaede and Kate Kravets as the couple, Rosemarie Lagunas as the sister, and David Trajan as the opera singer.

“The Last Romance” will be staged Feb. 13–15 at 545 Shasta Ave. in Morro Bay. Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Reservations and tickets are available at bytheseaproductions.org or by calling (805) 776-3287.
