Local non-profit helping children with cancer find holiday cheer
The organization has drives for a variety of holidays
–The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation is currently in the midst of their “Project Holiday” program, which provides gifts, Christmas trees, stockings, meals, grocery gift cards and gas gift cards to the families with children battling cancer that the organization serves.
The program has different donation drives for a variety of holidays like Easter, Thanksgiving, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas.
“This type of tangible support is exactly what families need right now during the holidays,” said the senior development director at the foundation, Brittany Avila Wazny. “The holidays should be a season of joy, but when your child is fighting cancer, they often add an additional layer of stress and heartbreak. Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation is here to take away some of that holiday burden and to ensure that every child in their household has a reason to celebrate.”
The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation mission is to advocate for families living in Santa Barbara, Ventura an San Luis Obispo counties that have a child with cancer by providing financial, educational and emotional support.
